Mzwanele Manyi
MK Party
Mzwanele Manyi has a background in economic geology, is a Harvard alumnus and a former Director General in the South African National Government. He has held senior executive positions in blue chip listed entities and multinational companies for decades. His corporate experience includes: Mining & Exploration Geology, Auto-sector, Banking, ICT and FMCG. He is a Member of Parliament, and Chief Whip of the Leader of Opposition, uMkhonto WeSizwe (MK). He gained attention for his leadership of the Black Management Forum (BMF), where he advocated for the advancement of black professionals in South Africa's corporate sector. Manyi was active in the African National Congress (ANC) and later the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), before joining the newly formed uMkhonto WeSizwe Party in 2024. In December 2024 he signalled his support for an MK Party proposal, for South Africa to adopt Bitcoin as a Strategic Reserve Asset.
