Helen Zille

Helen Zille is the Chairperson of the Federal Council of the Democratic Alliance. She started her career in journalism and ran a public policy consultancy before entering politics in 1999. Zille has been a Member of Parliament, the MEC for Education in the Western Cape, the Mayor of Cape Town and the Premier of the Western Cape. She was elected to her current position in 2019.
